67. Moon

67.
Moon

You give me the truth.
I love it.
Others say, shove it.

Dare I mention war and hate,
people who won’t pay,
those who torture children
when they don’t get their way?

Oh God, I don’t know what to do,
I only know that I love you.
Truth is God and so is love,
Hell below, Heaven above.

This from a misbegotten poet
who knows the truth but does not know it.

The truth is all around, that is where it may be found.
Look around, speak from the heart, that’s a start.

I wish to write the perfect poem and to be one.
Do you know a poet when you see one?
